Hikkake Pattern

 

The Hikkake pattern is a lesser-known but effective candlestick pattern used in technical analysis, primarily by traders to identify potential market reversals or continuations. The term "Hikkake" comes from the Japanese word for "trick" or "trap," reflecting the pattern's nature of luring traders into potentially false moves before the market goes in the opposite direction.

Structure of the Hikkake Pattern:

Inside Bar Formation: The pattern begins with an "inside bar" setup, where a candlestick's high and low are entirely within the range of the previous candlestick. This represents market consolidation or indecision.

Breakout: After the inside bar, the price breaks out either above or below the range of the inside bar. Traders often interpret this as a signal for a move in that direction.

Trap: Instead of continuing in the direction of the breakout, the price reverses, moving back into the range of the inside bar, trapping those who entered based on the initial breakout.

Confirmation: The pattern is confirmed when the price moves beyond the opposite side of the inside bar’s range. For example, if the initial breakout was above the inside bar's high, the pattern is confirmed if the price later breaks below the inside bar's low.

Trading the Hikkake Pattern:

Bearish Hikkake: If the pattern forms after an uptrend and the false breakout is upward, a bearish Hikkake suggests a potential reversal to the downside.

Bullish Hikkake: Conversely, if it forms after a downtrend and the false breakout is downward, a bullish Hikkake suggests a potential reversal to the upside.

Inside Bar (ඉන්සයිඩ් බාර්) පිහිටුවීම: Hikkake පැටර්න් එක "inside bar" ආකාරයෙන් ආරම්භ වේ. මෙහිදී එක් කඳුළු පටිහිඟයක් මුළු ගණනාවම පසුගිය කඳුළු පටිහිඟයේ පරාසය තුළම පවතිනවා. මේවා වෙළඳපොළේ පරිමාණාත්මකත්වය හෝ නීරසතාවය පෙන්වයි.

Breakout (බ්‍රේක්අවුට්): Inside Bar එකෙන් පසු, මිල ඉහළට හෝ පහළට බිඳ වැටීමක් සිදුවෙයි. වෙළඳුන් මෙය එම දිශාවට ගමන් කිරීමේ සළකුණක් ලෙස පෙනේ.

Trap (මුහුනු බැන්දුම): ප්‍රථම බ්‍රේක්අවුට් එකට අනුව මිල එම දිශාවට ගමන් නොකර නැවත Inside Bar එකේ පරාසය තුළට ගමන් කරයි, ඒ හරහා ප්‍රථම බ්‍රේක්අවුට් එක මත වෙළඳුන් සටනට පැමිණෙනවා.

Confirmation (තහවුරු කිරීම): මෙම රටාව තහවුරු වන්නේ මිල Inside Bar එකේ විරුද්ධ පැත්තෙන් පසුකරන විටයි. උදාහරණයක් ලෙස, ප්‍රථම බ්‍රේක්අවුට් එක ඉහළට පැමිණි විට, මෙම රටාව තහවුරු වන්නේ මිල පහළට ගමන් කරන්නේ නම්ය.

Bearish Hikkake: මෙම රටාව ඉහළ කාලයේදි බිඳවැටීමක් එන විට, Bearish Hikkake එකක් පෙන්වන්නේ මිල පහළට ගමන් කිරීමේ හැකියාවයි.

Bullish Hikkake: මෙය පහළ කාලයේදි බිඳවැටීමක් එන විට, Bullish Hikkake එකක් පෙන්වන්නේ මිල ඉහළට ගමන් කිරීමේ හැකියාවයි.
